About the Facilitator—
Elaine Yuen (she/her/hers) is an educator, chaplain, and Buddhist teacher. She has practiced and taught within the Shambhala community for over 50 years. She is a long-time Senior Teacher and Upadhyaya (Buddhist Minister) in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, trained by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Elaine is a seasoned Shambhala Art instructor and enjoys discovering the creative impulse within life’s many activities, be they making art pieces, caring for elders at the end of life, or brewing a proper cup of tea. Her programs often consider the interfaces between the creative impulse and meditation, Buddhism, and contemplative caregiving. Presently living in Philadelphia, she continues to be interested on in how we shape our social interactions with caring, creativity, and mindful presence.
